2 UNPATTI FH lecturers became presenters at the 1st International Conference on Indonesian Legal Studies

Semarang – Wednesday (July 25th). The 1st International Conference on Indonesian Legal Studies (ICILS) was the first international conference held by the Faculty of Law, Semarang State University (Unnesa).

This conference, a discussion by scientific researchers from various countries, aims to provide a forum for discussion among legal experts, government officials, scholars, professors, teachers, students, and other key organizations or stakeholders related to legal studies. The theme is "Contemporary Issues on Indonesian Legal Studies in the Global Context."

The activity was held at the Grand Candi Hotel Semarang Indonesia, Wednesday, July 25, 2018. The participants of the activity consisted of call for paper participants (presenters) of around 40 presenters and non-call for paper participants from within and outside the country. For presenters, an abstract selection was previously carried out and from the Faculty of Law, Universitas Pattimura, who successfully passed were Vica Jillyan Edsti Saija with the title of the paper, namely Destruction Behind The Theme of Environmental Utilization, and Yanti Amelia Lewerissa as the main author and Roland Samson (UKIM) as the second author with the title LGBTIQ Behavior in Criminal Law Perspective and Maluku Protestant Church Teachings (GPM).

The conference organizer is the Faculty of Law, Semarang State University in collaboration with Andalas University, Indonesia, Islamic Science University Malaysia (USIM), Sultan Syarif Ali Islamic University (UNISSA), Brunei Darussalam, and Atlantis Press.

The initial presentations by the main speakers included: Professor Reid Mortensen, Head of School (Law and Justice) University of Southern Queensland; Prof. Yoshiki Kurumisawa, School of Law Waseda University, Tokyo Japan; Dr. Hajah Mas Nooraini binti Haji Mohiddin, Faculty of Sharia and Law, Sultan Syarif Ali Islamic University (UNISSA) Brunei Darussalam; Prof. Dr. Hj. Abdul Samat Musa, Universitas Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM); Prof. Sumanto Al Qurtuby, Ph.D, Department of General Studies King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals Dhahran, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia; Dr. Vanitha Sundra Karean, University of Southern Queensland Australia; and Dani Muhtada, PhD, Faculty of Law Semarang State University Indonesia.

After that, for the participant presentations, participants were divided according to the topic into 4 (four) large groups to present their writing for 5-7 minutes and then a question and answer session for 10-15 minutes.
