The Faculty of Law at Universitas Pattimura inaugurated 77 new undergraduate graduates during a solemn inauguration and graduation ceremony for the April 2026 term at the Santika Premier Hotel in Ambon on Friday, April 17, 2026. This moment marked the end of the academic journey and the beginning of new responsibilities for the graduates.
The event was attended by university and faculty leaders, including Vice Rector IV of Universitas Pattimura, Dr. Ruslan HS Tawari, M.Si. who was present representing the Rector, as well as the Dean of the Faculty of Law, Prof. Dr. Adonia Ivonne Laturette, SH, MH, along with a number of vice deans, professors, and other invited guests.
In his remarks, Dr. Ruslan Tawari conveyed a profound message to the graduates, urging them not to forget the alma mater that had shaped them. He emphasized that the graduates were a generation that would play a crucial role in guiding the direction of the nation and state.
He further emphasized that sincerity is the primary foundation for practicing knowledge. According to him, the blessings and benefits of knowledge will only come if it is practiced with a sincere heart. Without sincerity, knowledge can lose its direction and value. He also emphasized the importance of always remembering one's parents and origins as a moral foundation for living life.
In line with this, the Dean of the Faculty of Law, Prof. Adonia Ivonne Laturette, emphasized in her remarks that a bachelor's degree is not the end, but rather the beginning of a long, challenging journey. She expressed her pride in the graduates, who come from diverse backgrounds and are now able to confidently face the future.
The graduates were also reminded not to be complacent with their achievements. The world beyond campus demands hard work, integrity, and the ability to continuously learn. Humility is a crucial value to uphold, as it is from it that blessings and pride for one's family and alma mater are born.
Furthermore, graduates are encouraged to pursue not only personal success but also to make a real contribution to society and play a role in creating a better future generation. Current achievements are expected to serve as a strong foundation for greater strides in the future.
Of the total of 77 graduates who were confirmed, 24 graduates succeeded in achieving the best predicate (cum laude), demonstrates proud academic quality.
In closing, the graduates of the Faculty of Law of Universitas Pattimura are scheduled to take part in the official graduation procession on Thursday, April 23, 2026.
