Ureng Country – Lecturers in the Constitutional Law/State Administrative Law section of the Faculty of Law, Universitas Pattimura, have once again demonstrated their commitment to strengthening village governance through Community Service (PKM) activities in Negeri Ureng, Lehitu District, Central Maluku Regency, Friday, August 8, 2025. This activity focuses on increasing the capacity of state government officials and village officials in financial management and effective and accountable governance.

The event, which took place at the Ureng State Office, was officially opened by the Dean of the Faculty of Law, Dr. Hendrik Salmon, SH, MH, and presented three competent legal professors as speakers in their fields:

  • Prof. Dr. MJ Saptenno, SH, M. Hum., explaining the importance of revitalizing traditional institutions in the country's government system.

  • Prof. Dr. Salmon Nirahua, SH, M. Hum., explains the principles and practices of transparent and accountable village financial management.

  • Prof. Dr. Jantje Tjiptabudy, SH, M.Hum., reviewing the process of forming state regulations that are in line with statutory regulations.

The event was attended by the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, Dr. Sherlock H. Lekipiouw, SH, MH, the Head of the Constitutional Law Section, lecturers from the HTN/HAN Section of the Faculty of Law, as well as government officials and the local community. The direct interaction between academics and the local government created a constructive discussion space and served as a bridge between academic knowledge and government practice.

The people of Negeri Ureng, through officials and traditional leaders, expressed their appreciation for the Faculty of Law's efforts in providing knowledge and mentoring. This program is expected to be a strategic step toward more professional, sustainable governance, and one that aligns with local cultural values.

This PKM activity is an example of synergy between universities and the community, which not only strengthens institutional capacity but also confirms the role of universities as driving forces for regional development.
