suaramaluku.com – Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Bahlil Lahadalia inaugurated Rilke Jeffri Huwae as Director General (Dirjen) of Law Enforcement (Gakkum) of the Ministry, Wednesday (25/6/2025).
The inauguration took place in the Sarulla Room, Chairul Saleh Building, Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources Office, Jakarta.
Huwae is an alumnus of the Faculty of Law (FH) Universitas Pattimura (Unpatti) Ambon in 1993 and was born in Masohi City, Central Maluku, on February 14, 1970.
He was originally a career prosecutor. Prior to his appointment as Director General of Law Enforcement for the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, he served as Expert Staff for Priority Investment Sector Development at the Ministry of Investment and Downstream Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM).
According to detikFinance, the Directorate General of Law Enforcement (DGKUM) was established based on Presidential Regulation (Perpres) Number 169 of 2024 concerning the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources. The establishment of the DGKUM is one of the government's efforts to address the problem of illegal mining (PETI) in Indonesia.
The Directorate General of Law Enforcement has a number of functions, including formulating policies in the areas of prevention, handling complaints, monitoring legal compliance, conducting investigations, imposing administrative sanctions, and implementing criminal law, as well as supporting law enforcement operations in energy and mineral resources.
JEFFRI HUWAE PROFILE
According to the official website of the Ministry of Investment and Downstream Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM), Jeffri Huwae is no stranger to the legal world. He served as Head of the Fak-fak District Attorney's Office (2014-2017) and then as Head of the Bangka District Attorney's Office (2017-2019).
Then, from 2019 to 2020, he served as Assistant for Civil and State Administrative Affairs at the North Maluku High Prosecutor's Office. Huwae also served as Head of the Ternate District Prosecutor's Office from 2020 to 2021.
His career continued until he served as Head of the Legal Bureau, Ministry of Investment/BKPM (2021-2024) and most recently served as Expert Staff for Priority Investment Sector Development, Ministry of Investment/BKPM.
