The election process for the Chancellor of Universitas Pattimura for the 2012-2016 period, which took place at the Auditorium Building of the Universitas Pattimura Headquarters, was opened by the Chancellor, Prof. Dr. HB Tetelepta, Mpd, which was also attended by the Director of Institutions of the Directorate General of Higher Education, Ministry of National Education, Prof. Dr. Ahmad Yasidi. Of the 84 total votes cast, 1 vote was invalid. However, this did not disrupt the election process which was quite tough.
After the selection process which started at around 10.00 WIT. So the results of the entire series of Chancellor selection processes for the 2012-2016 period were achieved, including:
- Prof. Dr. Th. Pentury, M.Si = 44 votes
- Prof. Dr. TD Pariela. MA = 20 Votes
- Dr. Ir. Agustinus caste, MS = 18 Votes
Members of the Universitas Pattimura Senate from the Faculty of Law who were present in the process of electing the Chancellor of Universitas Pattimura, included:

- Prof. Dr. S. Mailoa, SH., MS.
- Prof. Dr. Marthinus Johanes Saptenno, SH. MHum
