Based on the study of hadith books and interpretations of the Qur'an, such as the hadith book entitled Sahih Al Bukhari, written by Imam Bukhari, the book of interpretations of the Qur'an written by Imam Al Qurtubi, entitled Al Jamiili Ahkamil Quran and the book of interpretations of the Qur'an written by Ibn Katsir, it is known that fasting was obligatory on the Prophet and previous people before the Prophet Muhammad SAW, such as Prophet Dawud Alaihisalam, Prophet Musa. Alaihisalam, Prophet Isa Alaihisalam. Even to Prophet Adam Alaihisalam. This is very in accordance with Allah SWT's command to fast to the Prophet Muhammad SAW, as found in the Al Qur'an in Surah Al Baqarah verse 183, which means (in Indonesian) that O believers, fasting has been obligated for you, as it has been obligatory for previous people before you, so that you become pious people. Almighty Allah is true with all His words.
