Ambon – Saturday (28/04), Inmates of the Class II A Ambon Correctional Institution (LAPAS) received a socialization on Anti-Corruption Culture, organized by the Class II A LAPAS, in collaboration with Universitas Pattimura Community Service Students. The theme of this activity was Anti-Corruption Culture, which was led by Erwin Ubwarin, SH, MH (Lecturer in Criminal Law).
Inmates were given material on Anti-Corruption Culture, which raised the question of how an honest person can influence others to behave honestly. This outreach is expected to encourage inmates to become anti-corruption agents and become aware. If we, as inmates, give rewards or bribes to officers or officials, we are tantamount to supporting criminal acts of corruption.
In accordance with Article 31 of Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning the Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption, the Faculty of Law at Universitas Pattimura continues to implement prevention programs, starting with the family, educational environment, and community. Correctional institutions serve as educational institutions for inmates who will eventually return to society.
