UNPATTI,- On Monday, March 21, Prof. Dr. Soo-il Kim, Advisor to the President of Universitas Nasional, delivered a public lecture on the topic “Strategies for Building a Successful Future in the Era of Globalization” in the 3st Floor Hall of the Faculty of Law, Universitas Pattimura. This public lecture was held as part of a series of activities to commemorate the 59th Anniversary of Universitas Pattimura.
Dean of the Faculty of Law Dr. RJ Akyuwen, SH., M.Hum., in his opening speech, stated that strategy is crucial for a country. A country with a sound strategy will demonstrate its progress and strength. Conflicts between several countries and powerful nations are examples of how strategy plays a crucial role. Likewise, Indonesia must have strategies to address globalization. "President Jokowi stated that Indonesia will become the country with the strongest economy in the future," he said. He further stated that Indonesia should strengthen its economy so it can bargain with other countries. A strong economy in a country will be a strength for the future of its nation. "If we are economically strong, major countries will take us into account, but if our economy is weak, we will be left behind." He stated that in this activity, Prof. Kim will explain future strategies. One of the important strategies used by the government is the role of universities through the development of research and its results.
The Dean hopes that Prof. Kim's experience in South Korea, both as a former Ambassador and an expert at Universitas Pattimura, will provide enlightenment and strategies for Fostering a Successful Future in the Era of Globalization for the academic community of Universitas Pattimura.
This public lecture was moderated by Dr. Dyah RA Daties, SH., MH (Lecturer at the Faculty of Law, Unpatti). In this public lecture, she explained the purpose of the Strategy for Building a Successful Future in the Era of Globalization, namely to fill in the gaps or weaknesses in improving the quality of human life. Based on Prof. Kim's experience, there are three main things in achieving success, namely mastery of two to three foreign languages, maturity in making a policy, and visionary thinking, open-minded, do everything diligently.
This public lecture was attended by the Deans of Universitas Pattimura, the Vice Deans, the Lecturers and students of the Faculty of Law, Unpatti.
