UNPATTI,- In the framework of the 59th Anniversary of Universitas Pattimura in 2022, the Faculty of Law was entrusted to be the Organizer of this Anniversary, holding Renewable Energy Training in the Law Faculty Courtyard, Wednesday, March 16. The implementation of the activity which is part of the series of the 59th Anniversary, in collaboration with the New Zealand Program Mercy Corps Indonesia and was attended by student representatives from each faculty within the scope of Unpatti and representatives of students from universities in Ambon City.
Prof. Dr. F. Leiwakabessy, M.Pd in his remarks opening the training expressed his appreciation for the implementation of this activity and said that Universitas Pattimura has a Core Scientific Pattern of Marine Noble Development. In line with that, the implementation of the 59th Anniversary of Universitas Pattimura, carries the theme of Honoring the Marine Environment for the Conservation and Welfare of Society. This is because Maluku has natural resources that must be supported by superior, productive and innovative human resources, and this will support the development of the Maluku region.
He continued, explaining that renewable energy and natural resources represent extraordinary potential that must be the foundation and effort of all parties, including Universitas Pattimura, to develop joint scientific strengths for the benefit of the community, nation, and state. Therefore, it is hoped that through the study of natural resources, potential strengths can be harnessed and how to strengthen renewable energy.
The university will synergize and collaborate with various government policies. The university is no longer seen as merely an educational institution but an institution that will make a significant contribution to the development of the nation and state, both through technological studies, research, and innovative products. "We will be committed to bringing Unpatti to a better direction, of course with human resources capable of managing and developing natural resources, so that Universitas Pattimura will become a lighthouse and continue to shine," said Prof. Leiwakabessy. He also hopes that there will be outputs generated from this activity in the form of journals and dissemination of the results of this activity.
The purpose of this training is to support Universitas Pattimura (UNPATTI) in building its capacity and conducting practical training on solar PV technology to students and others in Maluku to strengthen the human capacity of renewable energy in Maluku in the long term.
In this activity, participants were introduced to the New Zealand – Maluku Access to Renewable Energy Support (NZ Mates) Program by Safitri Yanti, SE., MBPS (NZ Mates Program Manager), and several materials on renewable energy (ET) by Usep Nuraen (NZ Mates Renewable Energy Technical Specialist). This training was moderated by Dr. Dyah RA Daties, SH., MH (Lecturer at the Faculty of Law, Unpatti).
The training closed with the awarding of certificates to the speakers and participants.
