Workshop on Improving the Quality of Education at the Faculty of Law, Patti, Towards ISO 9001:2015 Certification

To improve the quality of education, the Faculty of Law at Patti University held a Workshop on Improving the Quality of Education Towards ISO 9001:2015 Certification. The event, which took place from November 20-24, 2017, was mentored by Drs. Muhammad Rosiawan, MT from the British Standards Institution (BSI).

The activity, which was attended by the Faculty leadership, several staff members and student representatives, was to improve the quality standards of education according to the ISO 9001:2015 standard.

Some of the workshop materials provided include:
1. organizational roles, responsibilities and authorities
2. Risk Management
3. Improvement of Human Resources, Infrastructure and Environment
4. Creating SOPs
5. Control of Quality Standards.
6. Auditing a Quality Management System.

It is hoped that the knowledge gained through this workshop will result in changes to the management system and an increase in the quality of education and a guarantee of the quality of service provided by the Faculty to customers (students).

To improve the quality of education to achieve its vision, the Faculty must implement the Plan, Do, Check, Action (PDCA) system, supported by ISO. The Faculty of Law's Quality Assurance Group (GPM), which is also the Internal Auditor, will continuously monitor and evaluate the quality results that are running within the Faculty of Law. BSI, the External Auditor and the institution that issues the ISO 9001:2015 Certificate, will conduct an audit at the Faculty of Law starting in July 2018 and will take place annually.

With the improvement of the quality of education, as well as the joint commitment of the academic community and supported by the achievement of A Accreditation and ISO 9001:2015 Certificate, it is hoped that the Faculty of Law Unpatti will be able to become a superior Faculty and ready to compete in the international world.
