Unpatti,- The implementation of the Judicial Ceremony and the Launching of the Faculty of Law, Universitas Pattimura, which was held on June 18, 2020, was an academic process as a final assessment and determination of assessment and graduation for 114 graduates who had been studying for a certain period of time.
The Extraordinary Open Senate Meeting of the Judiciary and the Deployment of Graduates of the Faculty of Law, Universitas Pattimura, April 2020, began with the singing of the National Anthem of Indonesia Raya, and was opened by the Chairperson of the Senate of the Faculty of Law, Unpatti, Dr. Hendrik Salmon, SHMH. The event continued with the reading of the decree, the Reading of the Panca Purna Ikrar of Graduates of the Faculty of Law, Universitas Pattimura by one of the Cumlaude Graduates, Veral Hendisco Pattipeilohy (IP.3,84), the inauguration of graduates of the Faculty of Law, UNPATTI, was carried out by the Dean of the Faculty of Law, Dr. Rory J. Akyuwen, SH, M.Hum, followed by the handover of graduates to the Chairperson of the Faculty of Law Alumni Association, represented by the Deputy Dean for Academic Affairs, Dr. Elsa Toule, SH, MS, and ended with the closing of the Extraordinary Open Senate Meeting by the Chairperson of the Senate.

The representative of the best graduates, Pascalita Metekohi (IP 3,89), in her speech expressed her gratitude to the Foster Mother of the Faculty of Law, especially to the Dean and the Vice Deans, Heads of Sub-Divisions, Education Staff, Heads of Study Programs, especially the Lecturers who have shared their knowledge, given affection and various experiences to the graduates. "There are so many struggles to shape us into real students, so that we can sit at the Graduation ceremony today. We realize that we cannot repay all the kindness of the fathers and mothers, we are determined to practice all that has been given to benefit many people."
He continued, there are so many challenges faced in the midst of the pandemic. Covid-19 which makes some of us have to take undergraduate exams online, even the graduation ceremony today, but all of that does not reduce the academic authority of the process.
"After we complete our undergraduate studies here, challenges await us out there, the country beckons, and society awaits our contribution. We will pursue many professions and be in diverse settings, but whatever it is, we should be an inspiration, a solution, and a source of good from the knowledge we have acquired," Pascalita stated.
Dean of the Faculty of Law, Universitas Pattimura, Dr. Rory J. Akyuwen, SH, M.Hum., in his remarks, stated that the Faculty of Law, Universitas Pattimura, would still hold the Graduation Ceremony, because the pandemic was actually Covid-19 "This is not a barrier to completing students' studies, and the Faculty of Law wants to demonstrate that students should not be sacrificed solely by the pandemic," he continued, explaining that the graduation ceremony is about ensuring students receive their diplomas and are awarded a Bachelor of Laws degree. Therefore, the Faculty of Law must continue to innovate to ensure that students' interests remain paramount.
First in the history of the Faculty
Universitas Pattimura Rector Prof. Dr. MJ Saptenno, SH, M.Hum., stated that the current graduation ceremony is the first of its kind at the Faculty of Law and Universitas Pattimura. Many processes, including lectures, exams, and finally the graduation ceremony, are being conducted online, a result of the pandemic. Covid-19 and this also has a global impact, almost all countries in the world are experiencing the same thing and it has an impact on higher education institutions in the world, so many aspects are being harmed that it affects the order of human life.
The Chancellor expressed his gratitude to the Dean and leadership of the Faculty of Law, as well as the Senate Chair and members for conducting the graduation ceremony and the online graduation ceremony. According to the guidelines issued by the Minister of Education and Culture regarding the Independent Campus and Independent Learning, the process continues to run smoothly amidst the pandemic without a specific program. Covid-19, therefore there is no need to be afraid and doubtful but strategic steps are needed to move towards one era, namely the era New Normal.
He continued, explaining that the current pandemic presents challenges and responsibilities to us as young scientists who will soon graduate, including strategic thinking and the ability to create independent jobs. "As graduates of the Faculty of Law at Universitas Pattimura, we must be able to create regulations, encourage both central and regional governments, and encourage the public to comply with these regulations, so that all of this has meaning for the nation and state, including the people of Maluku and Ambon."
"Don't forget the Foster Mother of the Faculty of Law, Universitas Pattimura, with all the shortcomings and limitations in the teaching process so that you can become complete graduates, and continue to maintain the good name of this institution in the life of society, nation and state," he said.
On that occasion, the Chancellor expressed his gratitude to the parents and guardians who have entrusted this institution to educate their children under the current circumstances. "If there are any shortcomings and limitations, we apologize and understand. Please pray for this institution so that it remains steadfast in carrying out its duties despite the extraordinary changes in the global dynamics and order."
Graduation held online via application Zoom meeting This was carried out in 2 stages, the first stage was attended by 60 undergraduate graduates, and the second stage was 54 undergraduate graduates, a total of 114 undergraduate graduates for the period April 2020.
There is a different tradition in the implementation of the Graduation Ceremony this time, where usually the necklace (Gordon) and tube are given by the Dean and Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, but this time, the necklace and tube are given by the parents/guardians of the graduates to their children.
